Here has he written yday on his FB .
The holy month of Ramadan has begun for our Muslim communities. But today and tomorrow are also significant days for our South Asian ethnic communities.
Today, 13 April, the Sikhs celebrate Vesakhi, the most significant day in the Sikh calendar. Tomorrow, our Tamil friends will be celebrating Puthandu, the Tamil New Year, which falls on the first day of the Tamil calendar. The Malayalees and Bengalis too are observing their respective festivals, Vishu and Pohela Boishakh.
We are still living under the shadow of COVID-19, but we can carry on with our usual customs in a safe and practical way. These festivals are important – they remind us what truly matters in life, and what it means to belong to a community.
I wish all Sikh and Indian friends who are celebrating their special occasions a safe and meaningful day! May you and your families be blessed with health, happiness and harmony! – LHL
