I am BB but am fine with last three alphabets
Being physically fit and mentally agile , I am fortunate to have daily interaction and engagement with 5 generations .
The breakdown by age of customers , colleagues and fanily members looks like this:
- Seniors : Born 1922 -1945 : Veteran Successful customers , Family members .
- Baby Boomers: born between 1946 and 1964. : Customers , All my school college and previous office work mates ,
- Gen X: born between 1965 and 1979/80 : Most of office managers
- Gen Y: or Millennials born between 1981 and 1994/6.
- Gen Y.1 = 25-29 years old
- Gen Y.2 = 29-39
- Bulk of Office colleagues , Emerging entrepreneurs
- Gen Z: born between 1997 and 2012/15. : My daughter , Pets
I am at ease with print media , Laptop , Netflix and mobile . But do feel lack of attention deficit in going through operating instructions or playing video games .
I empathise with Generation Y who become over-reliant with attachment to their parents leading to divorce culture .
I thrive with Gen Z in their daredevil spirit of breaking away traditions
What I fail to understand and get along with those who are Gen Y who believe and behave like Seniors and baby Bloomers .
It’s perfectly acceptable for me to be branded by Gen Y and Gen Z as “boring,” “stubborn,” and “grumpy.” with enthusiasm to lecture of being “ethical” . But I strive hard to be as energetic as them
I am proud to I say that I belong to all musical genres from classical , Jazz , Indie to bollywood . From Miles Davis , Harry Belafonte to Ariana Grande , Rihanna , Dua Lipa
I like bluntness and boldness of GenZ asking ‘ why ‘ tell me ‘ and I also empathise with frustration of Gen X and enjoy to watch the surprise and shock on the face of Seniors .
