Debonaire man

Not many can follow such career spectrum . Studying Mathematics and later doing mechanical engineering , working in building construction ,establishing  in  the field of movie, media and literature and setting up a legacy in the form of Mumbai Literature Festival .

His surname sounded marathi but I doubt he was . He looked in every sense Bengali . But Dhar is also a place in MP so he could be from North .  Image of him stayed on for his unique hair style , his dress sense and his soft voice with feminine body frame .

He became recognisable face with the magazine that he edited - Debonair . He made Debonoir as Indian Playboy and there would be clamour to see the center page of this magazine . I think this was the time when magazine vendors started wrapping magazine in plastic cover . First time I noticed him was his taking interview of Shabana Azami . What stuck me most was his genial disposition - a far cry from today’s cacophony , boisterous  and screaming talk of current TV anchors .

I read a tweet of his passing away today and his images during past few decades came to the fore . His name was Anil Dharkar .
